Show your work

Any algorithm is a bitch, if nobody sees your work, it will never be suggested to anyone.

But if someone starts to see it, it may be suggested to one more, and this might make it appear in someone else's feed and maybe many more. Virality works even on a very small scale. In fact, it can only start on a small scale.

This, so say, after the effort to push something out the door, is very, very important to spend some effort to have our work in front of others too. Maybe even just sharing it with some friends, them seeing it might open doors to people with similar taste.

And here's an important thing: Are you doing something good enough that you want your friends to see it? And share their opinions of it?

It's harder than just publishing cause you are exposing yourself to direct judgment

Many people say to do "content" to connect with like-minded people, but why do we search for strangers' opinions when we already filter for people we want to be close with and have direct access to? (ie friends)

By showing our work, we hack the game to take responsibility instead of waiting for luck to strike, and we give respect to the time and care in any kind of work we do, which starts as a genuine desire to connect, share, learn etc.

This was a private note, but I spent a couple of minutes making it good enough to share with some friends, cause why not? If it sparks a conversation, it might be worth more than 100 likes from scrolling zombies
